Ava pair held without bond after investigation

Felicia Hodo, 40, of Ava, and Joseph Wilson, 39, of Ava, were arrested in Howell County on Douglas County warrants following a several month narcotics investigation.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Hodo and Wilson were wanted on charges of first degree drug trafficking, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful use of a weapon by possessing methamphetamine and a firearm. No bond was set for either defendant.

The warrants stemmed from a search warrant served May 14, 2026, at the defendants’ residence in Douglas County. Sheriff Degase and deputies reportedly seized a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, firearms and more than 400 grams of a liquid substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Sheriff Degase commended Deputy Sam Evans and Sgt. Aaron Box for their work on the case. He also thanked the Ava Police Department for assisting with the warrant service, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office for locating and arresting the two defendants, and the COMET and South Central Drug Task Force for their assistance in the joint investigation.
All charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
