Foxtrotters Firing Up, 42nd Annual 3 Year Old Futurity and Spring Show Runs June 9-12
On Tuesday, June 8th, four year old Presley Bishop from Rogersville practiced riding CatsRomeo GIC at the Foxtrotters facility north of Ava on Highway 5. The 3-Year-Old Futurity and Spring Show runs through Saturday night.
The 42nd annual 3-Year-Old Futurity and Spring Show of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association is under way at Ava and will continue through Saturday night.
The Spring Show opened on Tuesday with the annual Youth Seminar, and classes began showing on Wednesday morning in the Versatility Arena on the association’s showgrounds just north of Ava on Highway 5.
From Wednesday through Saturday, some 75 classes will be exhibited, including model and performance classes in the evening shows in the main arena, and versatility classes that will show during the day in the versatility arena west of the main arena.
Wednesday’s show included youth leadline and adults over 18 classes, novice and out-of-state classes, equitation and open amateur classes.
Thursday’s daytime show will see Open Trail, Youth Trail, Open Reining, Youth Reining, Open Barrel Race, Youth Barrel race, Open Pole Bending, Youth Pole Bending, Open Stake Race, and Youth Stake Race classes.
Thursday nights show includes Youth Model, Bareback Equitation (rider 15 and over), 3 Yrs and Older, 5 year old mares, 5 year old stallions & geldings, 3 year old Futurity mares, Ladies rider 18 & over, and 3 year old Futurity Stallions & Geldings classes.
Friday at 9:00 a.m. a ranch sorting clinic and classes will take place in the Versatility area.
Friday night in the main arena features Model Mares (any age horse), Open Amateur Limited Rider 18 & Over, Youth, Amateur Owned 6 Year and Older, Open 5 Year Old, Out of State Championship, Men’s Championship, Ladies Championship, Open 6 Year & Over Classes.
Saturday morning a Ranch Sorting Jackpot will take place at 9:00 A.M. in the Versatility Area.
Saturday night events take place in the Main Arena starting at 6:30 P.M. and include Youth Championships, Senior Citizen Championships, Amateur Owned Championships, and the Three Year Old Futurity events.
