Seymour woman remanded to custody in Douglas County case

Janice L. Blackledge, 65, of Seymour, was remanded to custody May 26 when she appeared in Douglas County court.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Blackledge tested positive for methamphetamine and ecstasy when she arrived at court.

Blackledge was originally arrested Jan. 14 on a Douglas County grand jury indictment for possession of methamphetamine. She was released on her own recognizance Jan. 23 from the Douglas County Jail and ordered to report to CPS with weekly drug testing.

Authorities said Blackledge did not comply with those court orders.

The original case was investigated by former Douglas County Lt. Taylor Wallace.

All charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
