Our citizens of the month for April are Jonathan Mullican and Kaylee Hall. Jonathan Mullican, a freshman at Ava High School, is the son of James and Theresa Mullican.  Jonathan and his family recently moved here from Colorado where they raised livestock. His special community projects include organizing a community Easter Egg hunt for the United Methodist Church and running their sound system for them. After high school, Jonathan plans on attending Midwest Technical Institute to pursue a degree in Diesel Technology.  He would like to use that degree to obtain a job in working on tractor trailers and heavy equipment. Johnathan’s teacher’s go on to say that he is always conscientious with his work, and considerate to his teachers and fellow students. Our next citizen of the Month for April is Kaylee Hall.  Kaylee is a freshman at Ava High School, and she is the daughter of Ronda Hall. Her community projects include helping DOCO workers and planting flowers outside the DOCO building.  She has also volunteered to pick up trash and offered to clean business windows around the square. After High School, Kaylee plans to attend Missouri State University and major in Elementary Education. After college, she would like to teach somewhere in the Ozarks. Kaylee’s teachers go on to say that she is hard working, and is always willing to help her fellow students.
