Ava MS Volleyball Splits Matches With Willow Springs
Ava 8th grade beat West Plains on Sept. 8, 25-8, and 25-21. Following are the 8th grade stats for that match.
Alyssa Wallace was 14/14 serving with 10 Ace serves and 6/7 passing; Laynie Isaacs was 6/7 serving with 2 aces and 4/4 passing; Sarah Wolfenbarger had 3 ace serves, was 11/11 passing, 5/5 setting and had 2 kills; Paige Kimmons and Haley Beard were each 4/4 serving, Kimmons had 2 ace serves and was also 5/5 passing; Miquia Heinlein was 3/3 serving with 2 ace serves, 7/9 passing and was 3/3 hitting with 1 kill.
On Monday, Sept. 19 Ava Middle School hosted Willow Springs at Ava. The Ava 8th grade won in a two game match 25-19, 25-12. Ava 7th grade battled in a three game match but fell to Willow, winning game one 25-18, and then losing game two and three 25-21, and 24-26.
In the 8th grade match Sarah Wolfenbarger served 6 ace serves, was 18/19 passing 16/16 setting and 6/8 hitting with 2 kills. Sydney Gunter was 6/7 serving with 3 aces and 5/5 passing; Alyssa Wallace was 8/9 serving with 2 aces, 11/12 passing, 12/12 setting; and Kelbe Kilgore was 2/2 serving with 1 ace, Kaylee Downs was 8/8 serving with 7 ace serves.
Lanie Isaacs was 4/4 serving; Libero Paige Kimmons was 6/6 passing, Miquia Heinlein was 5/6 serving, 12/12 passing, 10/10 setting, and 10/10 hitting with 3 kills, Devon Rowe was 3/3 hitting with 1 kill.
In the 7th grade match, Hallie Smith was 15/17 serving with 2 aces; Taegan Snow was 10/12 serving with 3 aces, and 23/28 passing; and Baylan Alexander was 10/11 serving, 11/15 passing and had one hit.
Lauren King was 2/3 serving; Kaylee Springer was 6/7 serving, 3/3 passing and 5/5 hitting with 3 kills. Lauren Hall was 32/34 passing, 8/8 setting and 4/5 hitting, Samantha Keyes was 9/9 setting, 4/4 hitting and 16/18 passing.
Chanisty Clanton was 4/5 serving, 12/14 passing and 6/6 setting; or Libero Addison Croston 10/11 passing, and Madison Wade was 6/7 passing.
Ava hosted the Tigers of Houston on Sept. 22 and ended the night with two victories. Ava 7th grade won in a three game match 25-23, 22-25, 25-20. Ava 8th grade beat the Tigers in a two game match, 25-11 and 25-18.
Hailey Searcy came in and did some great serving. She served 14/14 with 3 aces. Taegan Snow was 16/19 and served 6 ace serves and was also 28/31 passing. Lauren Hall was 8/8 serving with 3 aces; 37/38 passing, 18/18 setting, and 17/19 hitting.
Madison Wade was 10/14 passing; Samantha Keyes was 14/16 passing, 17/17 setting and had 8 hits; libero Addi Croston was 9/11 passing. Hallie Smith had 2 ace serves and was 2/2 passing; Julia Henry was 9/11 passing and had 4 hits; Chanisty Clanton was 4/4 serving and 9/10 setting; Baylan Alexander was 4/5 serving with 3 ace serves, 11/15 passing and 3/3 hitting.
Ava 8th grade: Sydney Gunter’s consistent serves helped the Bears to another victory, she served 16/16 and had 8 ace serves, she was also 7/7 passing. Sarah Wolfenbarger was 10/13 serving with 4 aces, was 20/20 passing, 8/8 setting, and 9/10 hitting. Kaylee Downs was 6/6 passing, 8/8 setting and had one hit. Hannah Stafford was 1/1 serving and 3/3 passing; Makynna Wallace had 2 ace serves, 4/4 passing. Alyssa Wallace was 4/5 passing, 3/3 setting and had 2 tips.
Libero Paige Kimmons was 4/4 passing; and Miquia Heinlein was 6/7 passing, had two kills and two tips. Devin Rowe was 2/2 setting and 4/4 passing.
