Varsity Basketball Jamboree Friday & Saturday at Sparta

The Ava High School Bears and Lady Bears will participate in a basketball jamboree at Sparta High School on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Lady Bears will play on Friday night, beginning at 5 o’clock, facing Sparta. At 6:30 Ava will play Chadwick and at 8 p.m. the Ava girls will take on Bakersfield.
The Bears will begin play at 5 o’clock Saturday, facing Sparta, will take on Chadwick at 6:30 and Bakersfield at 8 p.m.
Fans had an opportunity to see the Bears and Lady Bears in action Monday when the Bear Booster Club hosted its annual tip-off event. It was also the community’s first opportunity to formally meet new varsity girls’ coach Alyssa Paulsell.
The Bears, under head coach Nathan Houk, will open the season at Spokane on Dec. 3. The Lady Bears will open at Seymour on Dec. 5.
Both events will be 9th, JV and varsity, beginning at 5 o’clock.
