Heart of the Hills Gets New Roof Through Generous Donations

Heart of the Hills Thrift Store and Food Pantry received a new roof last week thanks to generous contributions from Mike Garrett Roofing which provided the labor and Ava General Baptist Church which bought the materials.

Heart of the Hills Thrift Store and Food Pantry regularly give out food, personal care items, clothing and household items to the residents of Douglas County.
Last Wednesday morning, July 18, Heart of the Hills was given something in return – a new roof for the sorting building.
Because of the extreme heat, local roofer, Mike Garrett and his crew, started at 5:45 a.m.  and finished at 9:45. The crew consisted of Garrett, Ricky Jones, Darin Evans, Andrew Huffman, Mike Sliger, Rick Jones Sr., Timmy Evans and Sean Evans.
Garrett provided labor for the job and Ava General Baptist Church furnished the materials.
Mike and the Ava General Baptist Church wanted to show their appreciation to the Heart of the Hills for all the work they do for the residents of Douglas County. Last month the food pantry served 285 families.
