Spring Clean-Up Week Returns May 4–8

Residents are reminded that the City will conduct its annual spring clean-up and leaf pick-up the week of May 4 through May 8.

According to city officials, crews will collect items on the east side of town Monday and Tuesday, with west side pick-up scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. All items must be placed at the curb, and residents are encouraged to have materials set out early on their designated day, as there will be no return trips for missed collections.

City guidelines ask that brush be placed in a separate pile from other items. Acceptable items include furniture such as chairs, sofas and mattresses, along with tree limbs or brush cut by the property owner. Limbs must be less than 4 inches in diameter and no longer than 48 inches, and must be bundled in groups no larger than 18 inches in diameter or placed in containers weighing no more than 75 pounds.

Items that will not be accepted during the clean-up include household waste, electrical appliances, tree limbs or brush cut by contractors, trees that have been topped or removed, tires, car parts, and hazardous waste materials, including household electrical or gas appliances.

City officials encourage residents to follow all guidelines to ensure an efficient and successful clean-up week.
