Fall SW MO All Breeds Performance Tested Bull Sale numbers were low, but prices were high

Stockton, MO- “The numbers were low, but the prices were high at the SW MO All Breeds Performance Tested bull Sale on October 27 in Springfield, MO,” says Patrick Davis MU Extension Livestock Field Specialist. The current market is fueling high bull sale averages, and this sale was no different as 21 bulls sold for an average of $7,128 per bull. 

“This was primarily an Angus bull sale with 19 bulls selling for an average price of $7,274 per bull,” says Davis. The top selling bull was $10,000 from Fred Swartzentruber of Blue Mound Angus, El Dorado Springs, MO and purchased by James Doke of Brighton, MO. Swartzentruber also had the 3rd high selling bull at $8,800 that sold to Wilbert Kropf of Clinton, MO. The second high selling bull was consigned by Beau’s Black Angus of Stafford, MO and sold for $8,900 to Matt Dill of Niangua, MO.

“One Hereford bull sold for $5,000,” says Davis. The consigner of this bull was Cork Cattle Company of Wentworth, MO and the bull sold to Mathew Wommack of Buffalo, MO.

“One Gelbvieh bull sold for $6,500,” says Davis. The consigner was Witt Cattle Company of El Dorado Springs, MO and the buyer was Jerry Duff of Meta, MO.
