Thomas Edwin Hoefling

Thomas Edwin Hoefling, 81 years, 2 months, 9 days old, passed away on August 17, 2021 at Autumn Oaks Care Center, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.

Tom was born June 8, 1940 in Hammond , Indiana to Harvey and Helen (Dickerson) Hoefling. Tom’s family moved to California where he graduated high school.

On July 31, 1963 Tom and Barbara Mastropietro were married in Reno, Nevada. During his working life he was a machinist and machanic in Chicago at the National Can Company for over twenty years. Tom and Barb moved to the Ozarks twentyone years ago settling on their farm south of Mansfield in Douglas county. There he enjoyed raising Saddle Bred horses and working as a ferrier.

Tom  enjoyed working with his horses and shoeing, searching the web for ideas and information, and playing with his dog, Cody.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; and two step grand children Brenda and Dan.

Thomas is survived by his wife Barb, and four step daughters, Roxanna Hodges of Burksville, Kentucky; Debbie Worch of Tulelake, California;Reba VanAker,also of Tulelake; Susan Weissmann, of  Springfield, Missouri; and brother Richard of The Dalles, Oregon.

Funeral Mass for Thomas “Tom” Hoefling will be Saturday, August 21,2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Mansfield, MO. Officiating will be Deacon Joe Kurtenbach.
