Ava Teen Dies in Holiday Crash

Sydnee Paige Snow, 14, of Ava died in a one-car crash on highway 181 three miles north of Dora at 9:35 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Snow was a passenger in a 2010 Kia Forte driven by Madison Croney, 20 of Ava. While traveling southbound the vehicle skidded off the roadway and struck a tree.

Snow, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava. Croney, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. 

The crash was investigated by MSGT C Hogue of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
