6th Annual Silvey Stampede  Friday September 14

The Ava Cross Country team will host its 6th annual Silvey Stampede on Friday, Sept. 14 before the home football game.

Deadline to pre-register and receive your t-shirt on the day of the race is Monday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m.  Those pre-registered forms may be picked up and turned back in to the elementary, middle or high school office.  

The cost to enter is only $10 and includes a commemorative t-shirt. 

Entry forms are also available at the MOCH fitness center.  

Runners may also enter on the day of the race, and still receive a shirt. Late or ‘day of’ entries may pick up shirts the next Friday at the high school.   

Races are divided into age groups and distances on the Ava track.  The schedule is as follows: 

4:15 p.m. 0 years old – 2nd grade, 400 meters (1 lap around the track);

4:30 p.m. 3rd and 4th grade, 400 meters (1 lap around the track); 

4:45 5th and 6th grade, 800 meters (2 laps); 

4:45 7th and 8th grade, 800 meters (2laps); 

5:05 high school age students and older adults, different divisions but will race at the same time, 1600 meters ( 4 laps); 

5:25 business co-ed 4×100 relay, businesses are invited to enter employees or family of employees. 

Age group medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each gender, and all proceeds will benefit the Ava Cross Country team.
