Events are Planned for Springfield and the surrounding area
AUGUST 13, 2018/Springfield, Mo. –– The dairy business was a lot different when Hiland Dairy began in Springfield, Missouri 80 years ago. In 1938, Bert Putman delivered the first load of glass bottles to area homes on one horse-drawn wagon. Today, thanks to their customers, Hiland Dairy is well-known throughout the Midwest for fresh, delicious dairy products. But the heart of the company’s business remains in Springfield where the company headquarters are located.
Celebrating 80 years in business is certainly a milestone for any business. But what makes Hiland Dairy’s 80 years worth celebrating?
“I think it is a combination of caring farmer-owners producing and delivering a fresh and local product, loyal employees working hard to be better than they have to be and great customers wanting to provide this great product to their shoppers,” said Gary Aggus, President and CEO of Hiland Dairy. Aggus added “Most of all we thank our consumers, those shoppers that understand the great role that dairy products play in a healthy diet.”
Today, Hiland Dairy’s products are shipped and stored using state-of-the art technology, but their commitment to producing the absolute freshest, best-tasting dairy products possible remains the same as it did back then.
To thank the community for their support, Cheers to 80 Years events will be held throughout the Springfield, Branson and Joplin areas during August, September and October. Free ice cream, lemonade, Red Diamond Tea and other goodies will be available.
