Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Activity Report

During the week of Aug. 12 to 18, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received and answered 69 Calls for Service and 17 individuals were arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail, with 29 inmates currently in custody.
On the morning of Aug. 18, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Wright and Ozark County deputies, were in a lengthy stand-off on County Road 146.
After 3 1/2 hours and the deployment of multiple cans of gas into the residence, Robert Finch, 34, of Mtn. Grove, was taken into custody.

The 4th annual Douglas County Sheriff’s Department Coats for Kids 5K Walk/Run will be held at the Ava Community Center on Saturday, Sept. 30. Race will start at 8:30 a.m. Medals will be presented to top finishers in each age division, and overall finishers.
Participants must register by Sept. 15 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
Registration increases to $25 on race day.
Packet pick-up will be Friday, Sept. 29 at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department from 2-5 p.m. Packet pick-up will be available the morning of the race from 8-8:30 a.m.
Proceeds go to the Coats for Kids fund which provides Coats to the local kids that don’t have one.
