Ava Art Guild Workshop This Saturday, May 9; Spring Show Coming

Have you ever wondered how the restaurants, weddings and pubs have glasses or mugs  with a logo or names? It is a process called glass etching. It can be done by machine or at home by chemical etching (not nearly as scary as it sounds).
If you want to try your hand at glass etching then you need to be at the  Ava Art Guild on May 9. Elizabeth Brown, local artist and teacher will be showing the attendees of this month’s workshop how to make personalized glassware through this process.
The workshop is held at the gallery 303 E. Washington Ave. (across from Douglas County Herald Office) on the second Saturday of  the month, May 9. Social time which includes refreshments starts at 1 p.m., business meeting at 1:30 and workshop is at 2 p.m. All supplies are provided by the guild and the workshop is free and open to everyone.
