Volleyball Season Ends at District Tournament Monday

The Ava Lady Bears ended their volleyball season in the first round of the district tournament at Bolivar Monday night.
The Ava girls were pitted against Rogersville, and lost in straight sets, 7-25, 11-25.
Senior Cori Dry was 5-for-6 serving and 6-of-6 hitting with one kill. She also completed 17-of-20 digs.
Darian Bushong was 3-for-3 serving with an ace, and was successful on two block attempts.
Alena Stokes was 6-for-9 hitting and 31-of-41 on digs.
The Ava Lady Bears hosted Springfield Central for Senior Night last Thursday in the final home match of the season. The Ava girls fell to the hard-hitting Central team 5-25, 10-25.
Seniors Makenzie Watterson, Brittany Walker, Cori Dry, Ariel Bozeman and manager Samantha Stillings were recognized prior to the start.
