Jean A. Rieken, 85

Jean A. Rieken, daughter of Rudolf and Hattie Penning Rotgers, began her earthly life Sept. 13, 1927 in Ackley, Iowa. She began her heavenly life Oct. 5, 2012 from the Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, Ava, Mo.

She was married to Harry J. Rieken and together they worked on the dairy farm raising four children to value hard work and have faith in God.  She was a very pleasant lady who smiled and laughed often.  She cherished her family and loved God deeply.  She is fondly remembered by many as she drove her convertible around town with a big smile on her face.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Harry, her parents, and brother Cecil.

She will be deeply missed by her sons and their wives, Leslie and Kathy, Lew and Sue, Larry and Sheila, as well as daughter and husband, Linda and David Allison.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation was hosted at 6-7 Monday, Oct. 8, in the Ava Family Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Zion Lutheran Church, Diggins, Mo., with burial following in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Diggins.  All arrangements were under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
