Wreck Thursday Near Gentryville Has Minor Injuries

A two-vehicle  collision east of Gentryville last Thursday afternoon resulted in only minor injuries to those involved, including two children.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G, Willow Springs, reported the crash occurred at 3:45 p.m. five miles east of Gentryville on Highway 14.

The report said a 2002 Ford Taurus, driven west on Highway 14 by Jacqueline L. Lunn, 26, of Thayer, ran off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway and crossed the center line, hitting a 2008 Ford pickup nearly head-on.

The Patrol said the driver of the eastbound pickup, Maurice J. Grant, 65, of Phillipsburg, also overcorrected while attempting to avoid the collision, and also crossed the center line.

The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

Suffering minor injuries but refusing treatment at the scene of the crash were Lunn, as well as two passengers, Chase R. Finley, age 1, and Addalyn R. Hayes, age 4, both of Thayer. All occupants were wearing seatbelts according to the report.

The mishap was investigated by Tpr. Amye Johnson, assisted by Tpr. Jason Philpott, Tpr. Daniel Johnson and Tpr. John Roberts.
