Pilots Assn. Holds Annual Poker Run At Area Airports On Saturday, May 19

Nine airplanes participated in the annual Poker Run last Saturday, sponsored by the South Central Missouri Pilots Association.
Pilots participated by flying into their choice of nine airports to get a poker card.  Participating airports included, Ava, Cabool, Houston, Mansfield, Mountain Grove, Mountain View,  Thayer, West Plains, and Willow Springs.
Because of the gusting winds, all airplanes did not visit each airport.
The winner with the best hand was Ron Weldon, Ava; the worst hand was Tom White, Willow Springs.  Individual prizes were given from seven of the airports visited.
Mike Vaughn was awarded 15 gallons fuel from the West Plains airport for flying the most miles. Vaughn landed at eight of the nine airports.
The flying ended with a pot luck afternoon meal at the Vaughn hangar in Mountain View.  Nineteen individuals participated in the poker run.  Each individual airport was manned by an aviation enthusiasts.
