Ava Fire Dept. Called To Put Out Brush Fire Tuesday
The Ava Volunteer Fire Dept. was dispatched Tuesday evening to put out a brush fire at on the old drive-in theater property on NW 12th Ave.
The small fire appeared to have started along the right-of-way next to a utility pole, and spread to involve a small pine tree on the property before it was extinguished.
Conditions are becoming very dry, and although unusual for this time of year, there is a slight risk of fire danger. Folks are asked to be careful with any outdoor burning until we get significant rainfall.
Squires and Ava Rural fire departments also had fires on Tuesday that involved grass or brush, and small outbuildings.
