Laura Cruz

Laura Cruz, 92 years, 6 months, 11 days old, passed away on August 17, 2021, at Heart of the Ozarks.
Laura was born February 6, 1929, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to Adolfo and Isabel (Rosario) Robles.
On January 24,1945, Laura and Salvador Cruz were united in marriage at Luquillo, Puerto Rico and this union lasted for 61years until his passing on October 5, 2006.
Laura was a seamstress for life learning the skill at an early age in her home in Puerto Rico. When the family moved to California, she had her own business as a custom seamstress and later worked for boutiques and dress shops. Her grandchildren grew up very close to her in California and were her pride and joy. She took them camping, fishing, to church activities and much more. She was a child at heart and simply enjoyed watching all the children through the years. At the age of 16 she was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a dedicated member for all the years to follow. She truly was a Christ loving example to everyone she encountered. She was a colporteur for the church for a season, enjoyed sharing her faith and was very involved with her church families wherever she lived. For a very long time she made beautiful floral arrangements for the church. She enjoyed gardening and growing her special roses and was always a cat lover. After moving to the farm in Squires with Elizabeth, Julie, and Julian she continued to enjoy gardening and nature.
Laura is preceded in death by her parents and great grandson, Julian Lee Allen. After Laura’s death, her daughter, Elizabeth, passed away 2 days later on August 19th. She was also preceded in death by four siblings.
Laura is survived by her sons Eliseo and wife Noelia of Ava, Missouri; and James (Jaime) and wife Margaret of Ft. Myers, Florida;13 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Pablo Robles of Miami, Florida.
Funeral services for Laura will be held in Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, on Saturday August 28 at 3:00 P.M. with visitation from 2:00 till 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ava Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Mitch Elrod. Memorials may be made to the Ava Seventh Day Adventist Church Pathfinder Club, Ava, MO.
