Faye Wray

Faye Lorene Wray, 94 years, 3 months, 25 days old, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 1, 2021 with her family by her side.

Faye was born February 7, 1927 in Ozark County, Missouri to Lloyd Edward and Lula Ethel (Smith) Norton.

On August 29, 1943 Faye and Marvin Wray were united in marriage at her parents’ home near Gainesville, Missouri.  They were blessed with two children, Sandra and Darrell. Before Marvin’s passing they were preparing to celebrate their 77th Wedding Anniversary!

Faye was a member of the Ava General Baptist Church. She had served on the National Women’s Mission Board and also loved working with the children and youth department in the church. Faye was a loving, attentive and wonderful Pastor’s Wife for many years. She was always ready to serve at a moments notice. She adored and loved her Marvin. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Faye also enjoyed embroidering and quilting.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marvin, a granddaughter, Kelly Wray and her five siblings, Elza “Al” Norton, Mattie Reeves, Marvin Norton, Clemmie Shanks, and William “Bill” Norton.

Faye is survived by her two children and their spouses, Sandra and Dean Trivitt and Darrell and Debbie Wray all of  Ava; four grandchildren and their spouses, Gary and Roxanna Trivitt; Sheila and Chuck Green; Ron and Lacey Wallace; Darin and Colette Wray; 13 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends.   

Funeral services for Faye were Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, MO.  A Visitation was prior to the service on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating were her family, Rev. Dean Trivitt, Pastor Ron Wallace and Pastor Zack Green.
