Garry Leroy Garrison

Garry L. Garrison, born May 26th 1935, passed at Copper Rock Nursing Home April 20th, 2021.

Garry Garrison married Bonnie L. (Todd) Garrison December 24th, 1955 in Springdale, AR
Garry served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. During his Military, Garry spent one tour in Korean War and two tours in Viet Nam War. In 1970, he moved his family to Ava, MO, while finishing his last year in North Carolina. After retiring he moved back to Ava to be with his family.
In the early 1970’s Walmart built their first store in Ava where Garry was hired to help set up the new store. After the setup, he worked in the Sporting good section and other parts before retiring.
Then Garry and Bonnie moved to Noland’s Point, MO, where Garry enjoyed his hobby of fishing. Garry went on to become a licensed Fish Guide. From Noland’s Point Garry and Bonnie moved back to Ava for a while then moved to Marshfield, MO to be near their son Melvin Garrison.
Garry was preceded in death by his Parents and wife Bonnie of 64 years; his Brother Dale R Garrison in Korea, sisters Juanita and husband Leroy Elliot, Merle and husband Ralph Bookout, Leila and husband Doyle McCarty, and Laura and husband Robert Allen, and great-great grandson Luke Ryan Tompkins.
Garry is survived by one brother Earl Kelso Garrison II and wife Mary, his two sons Dale & wife Sheila Garrison, and Melvin & wife Marlana Garrison, 4 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-granddaughters.
He was cremated and service for him and wife Bonnie will be at the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale, AR on June 19, 2021.
