A Moving Performance: Ava’s Christmas Parade Well-Attended in Spite of Chilly Weather

Gray skies didn’t keep people away. 

A brisk wind didn’t keep people away.

Chilly temps didn’t keep people away.

Maybe people really do love a parade.

Or maybe it was just something to do that didn’t get canceled due to COVID-19.

No matter the reason, the reality was that Ava and Douglas County folks turned out in good numbers for the annual Christmas Parade, held Saturday, December 12th.

The Ava Chamber of Commerce reports the following winners: 

2020 Christmas Parade Float Winners:

Grand prize $400 to VFW Post 5993 and VFW Auxiliary.

1st Place $200 to Ava HS FFA Booster Club

2nd place $150 to First Southern Baptist Church.

3rd place $100 to Town & Country Bank.

 

2020 Store Front Christmas Decorations Winners:

1st place Whiddon’s Air & Electrical

2nd place Koala Bear Daycare

3rd place Longdollar Furniture
