Clifton Davis

Clifton Dale Davis, 97 years, 2 months, 21 days old passed away on December 6, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Clifton was born September 15, 1923 in Arno, MO to Enoch and Anna (Gunnels) Davis. 

Clifton was a dairy and beef farmer. 

In 1940 Clifton and Lela Lynn Shinpaugh were united in marriage and were blessed with seven children. Later on February 16, 1957 Clifton and Grace March were united in marriage in Ava, MO.  

Clifton was a Christian and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Temple in Ava. He enjoyed talking about God and teaching from the Bible. He loved to hunt deer, turkey and elk and often took trips to Colorado to elk hunt with his boys and grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sons, Leroy and Harlan, brother, Dean Davis and wife, Edna Mae, sister, Eula Davis Campbell and husband Lawrence, two grandchildren, Kraig Davis and Latricia McPherson Clem, and son-in-law, Danny Carmickle. 

Clifton is survived by his wife, Grace, five children, Gerald & Linda Davis, Harold Davis, Lavonne Kay Carmickle, Laverne Karen Farris, and Linda Joyce & Roy Presley, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, two sisters, Maxine Rosseau and Glenda Scott, one brother and wife, Bill & Darlene Davis, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Funeral services for Clifton was Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating was Rev. Junior Hall. Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International. Due to the spread of Covid-19 we requested that everyone wear a Mask if attending services. Thank you.
