Sister Miriam Gehringer

Sister Miriam Gehringer, 95 years, 2 months, 10 days old, entered into Glory on October 2, 2020 at her home at the Nazareth Hermitage in Ava.

Sister Miriam was born July 22, 1925 in Omaha, NE to Joseph and Helen (McLaren) Gehringer. 

Sister Miriam entered into her religious vows on August 15, 1945. She helped found the Nazareth Hermitage Catholic Community in 1976. Sister Miriam enjoyed poetry and loved literature.

Sister Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, Joseph, Helen, Robert and Florence.

Sister Miriam is survived by her two brothers, Donald and Raymond Gehringer. She is also survived by all her dear community at the Nazareth Hermitage.  

Funeral services for Sister Miriam were Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. the Assumption Abbey, Rt. 5, Box 1056, Ava, MO and burial followed at the Nazareth Cemetery, Ava, MO.
