New Year’s Centenarian

Submitted Photo Ruth Rodgers currently lives in Rogersville, MO, but is an Ava native and a 1938 Graduate of Ava Schools. Ruth turned 100 years old on January 1st, 2020. After graduating from Ava, she went to Overland Park, Kansas to attend Kansas City College & Bible School, a Church of God (Holiness) affiliate. She later received her Master’s degree in elementary education from Drury University. She taught at Mt Zion Bible School, and also served in Jamaica and St. Thomas, V.I. under the auspices of the Church of God (Holiness). She also was a minister in several of their churches in the US. She never married or had children, but has been well loved by those she invested her life in through education and spiritual matters.
