Last Sunday night on the Ava Square was a bit of a time warp with several decades of custom and restored cars filling the parking spots and cruising around. (Above) This 1939 Chevy 2-door sedan runs the classic Chevy 350 c.i. engine / TH350 automatic transmission combination. Owned by Ava local Rodney Alms, the bright red Chevy is currently for sale.
Michael Boyink/Herald This 1955 Chevy sedan is owned by Donald and Linda Tucker of Ava.
This 1949 Willys Delivery Panel wagon is owned by Ava resident Chuck Martin. The rare wagon has rear “barn doors” that open to the sides rather than the typical wagon drop-down tailgate and lift-up window. The Willys is powered by a Buick 3.8 V6 running through a 200-R4 four speed automatic transmission.
