The Southern Ozarks Youth Orchestra will present a concert entitled “Fall Frolics” at the Star Theater in Willow Springs Sunday, Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. This group of 35 young musicians is sponsored by the Willow Springs Arts Council and presents two concerts each year.
Tickets will be available at the door and cost $6 for adults while children under 12 will be admitted free of charge.
The “Fall Frolics” concert will feature fun music by Soon Hee Newbold, including “The Haunted Carousel” and “Mythos.”
The group will also perform “The Emperor’s New Clothes” which combines classical music by Bach with a tango. Several quartet chamber works are included in the program, and a duet playing a Pleyel piece. The concert will end with Eleanor Zobel of West Plains playing Minuet 3 by Bach.
Members of the youth orchestra are from West Plains, Willow Springs, Mountain Grove, Ava, and Mountain Home, Arkansas. The group is conducted by Heath Rhodes, and director is Danyal Sallee.
