Students of the Month

Ava High School students of the month were recognized during the Chamber luncheon held on Tuesday.  Bryce Mings, second from the left, is the son of John Mings and Amber Bradshaw.  Bryce is involved in FCCLA, FBLA, Trend, cross country and track.  He stays active in the community helping the elderly, volunteering at church with vacation bible school, and most recently, cleaning up after storm damage at the Ava Country Club golf course.  Upon graduating from high school, Bryce plans on running cross country and track in college and studying physical education to become a teacher and coach.  Morgan Whitacre, center right, is the daughter of Angela McKay and Ricky Whitacre.  Morgan is an active member of FFA, and participates in many community service projects.  After high school, Morgan plans to earn a bachelor’s degree with a major in Equine General Studies and minor in Equestrian Science. Morgan stays busy year round as barn manager for a dairy farm and taking college courses.
