Harlin Museum’s 43rd Annual Fall Art Show and Competition Begins Sept. 26 in West Plains

The Harlin Museum’s 43rd Annual Fall Art Show and Competition is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 26 – Saturday, Oct. 20. The competition is open to all artists 18 years and older.  

Entry dates for the competition are Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21 – 22, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., in the Harlin Museum’s Hathcock Gallery, located at 405 Worcester Avenue, West Plains, Mo. 

The Harlin Museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m., and the first Friday of each month, from 6 to 8 p.m. for Harlin Gala Night, celebrating the opening of a new show. 

 This is a juried art competition and all entries will be evaluated for artistic quality, integrity, presentation. Entry guidelines must be met for acceptance into the show.

There will be over $1,000.00 in prize money awarded to entrants.  

Prizes will include Overall Best of Show, $500 with ribbon, and ribbons for each of the three categories: first   place, $100; second place, $75; third place, $50, plus honorable mention prizes. Other prizes include memorial awards, purchase awards, artistic encouragement awards and people’s choice award.

A meet and greet social for artists will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.   Ribbons, prize money, and special awards will be presented at 2 p.m.  Paintings will be released at 3 p.m., before the museum closes at 4 p.m.  Unclaimed paintings may be picked up at the museum the following week.

Artists may have their art work posted for sale to the public during the show.  The Harlin Museum will take a 20% commission from the price the artist puts on the art sold in the Harlin Museum during the Harlin Museum’s 43rd Annual Fall Show and Competition.
