Douglas County Commissioners Meet, Open Bids
Douglas County Commissioners met on Monday, Sept. 10, with Presiding Commissioner Lance Stillings, Commissioner Craig Cunningham, and County Clerk Karry Davis present for the session.
In the meeting, commissioners approved a payment to Septagon Construction Management, Inc. for construction management fees and expenses for the new jail facility. The payment of $13,850 was made from the Law Enforcement Sales Tax Fund.
Commissioners opened one bid that had been submitted by Stopp & VanHoy, of Creve Coeur, Mo., a CPA and financial firm interested in handling a one-year financial audit for 2017. Since the commissioners only received one bid for the task, the audit item was tabled for further discussion. The bid from Stopp & VanHoy was for $16,000.
Stillings and Cunningham also reviewed two bids that had been submitted for installation of rubber treads on the courthouse steps. Bid submissions were from Flooring Systems, Inc. for $16,971, and Zickel Flooring, $15,105.
Commissioners awarded the job to the low bidder, Zickel Flooring, of Springfield, Mo.
