30 Counties in 30 Days Tour Brings Candidate to Douglas Co.

A barbecue luncheon was hosted August 29 in Ava by Democratic candidate Kathy Ellis who is running for political office against incumbent Missouri Representative Jason Smith, for the 8th Congressional District in November.  Ellis, a resident of Festus, Mo. in Jefferson County, was in Ava on a campaign tour as part of her “30 counties in 30 days” initiative, and with her stop in Ava on Wednesday, this was her 20th day on the road.  Visiting several towns each day, this was her third stop in Ava.  Ellis said she is running a grassroots campaign that focuses on issues such as healthcare, education and jobs.  Ellis, above center, had the opportunity to visit with many local residents.
