Bridge Sealing Project to Close Two Northbound Route 65 Interchange Ramps
Work to be done over two separate weekends
SPRINGFIELD – Drivers can expect two northbound Route 65 interchange ramps – one at Route 60 and the other at I-44 – in Springfield to close over two separate weekends in early September, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will clean and then seal the bridge decks/driving surfaces of the two interchange ramps. The work is a preventative maintenance measure aimed at extending the life of the two bridges.
Here’s a look at the project schedule:
• Northbound Route 65 to westbound Route 60 in southeast Springfield will close during work hours: 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, until as late as 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9.
If the work cannot be completed due to weather or construction delays, the work will be rescheduled for Sept. 14-17.
A detour route has been established.
• Northbound Route 65 to westbound I-44 in northeast Springfield will close during work hours: 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, until as late as 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17.
