Feeder Cattle Auction for 8/16/18
Receipts: 1077 Last Week: 1310 Year Ago: 926
Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves steady to 5.00 higher, no recent good test of yearlings for a price comparison. Slaughter cows 2.00 higher, slaughter bulls steady to 1.00 higher. Demand moderate to good, supply moderate. Near 15 percent of the receipts were replacement cows, slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 44 percent steers, 44 percent heifers, 12 percent bulls, with 23 percent over 600 lbs.
***Note*** Douglas County Livestock Auction will have a complete herd dispersal Thursday, August 23, 2018. Selling 70 head of running age bred cows, pairs and herd bulls.
