Vandals Strike Ava Neighborhood

On Monday, Aug. 6, sometime after 1:30 a.m., a city truck parked at the Water Dept. building on Mansfield Road was broken into and several cans of marker paint were stolen.

Vandal(s) then moved south on Mansfield Road, spraying blue or green paint on vehicles. The destruction continued down Benton Avenue where graffiti was sprayed on houses and more cars were damaged with paint.

Sergeant David Overcast with Ava Police Department, reports five cars and three houses were hit in the nighttime spree.  Damage was first discovered and reported to the Police Dept. around 7:00 a.m. that morning.
