Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Activity Report 8.9.18

During the week of July 30 to August 5, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received and answered 92 Calls for Service and Booked and Arrested 16 individuals into the Douglas County Jail.  There are currently 28 inmates in the jail at this time. Of these 28, the Jail staff took 18 to be seen in front of Judge Carter on Law Day, this past Tuesday.  

On Thursday, August 2, 2018, Sergeant Vernon Johnson made an Christopher Ward Photoarrest stemming from the shooting that occurred at the Ava Vet Clinic on July 21, 2018.  Christopher Ward, age 74, of Ava, was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon Felony B, Property Damage 1st Degree Felony E and Armed Criminal Action.  Bond was set at $20,000 10% cash or Surety.  Ward posted bond and was given a court date. 

On Saturday, August 4, Corporal Wallace and Deputy Roberts fingerprinted during the MOCH’s Health Fair.  Both enjoyed the interactions with the children as they were fingerprinted in case of a lost or abduction situation.
