Artist and UN Ambassador for Art and Peace, Ibiyinka Olufemi Alao, (Ibi as he is called), visited Skyline School last week and talked about his art as well as his life in Nigeria. Ibi works in schools, prisons, and juvenile detention centers, introducing art therapy to students and inmates. Ibi shared stories and artwork with Skyline students and then joined Mrs. Casper’s art classes to help students create some wonderful watercolor pictures which are on display in our school. Ibi will be at the Springfield art museum on September 26. We are so glad our students were able to have this experience!
UN Ambassador for Art and Peace Ibiyinka Olufemi Alao (or Ibi) held workshops for the art classes at Skyline R-2 School last week. The younger students learned how to paint sunflowers or a bowl with watercolors and the middle school landscape with sunrise/sunset and palm trees.
