Missouri Fox Trotters: 2017 Show and Celebration Winners

At this years Show and Celebration the versatility horse made a debut in the main arena on a couple occasions, showing that the Fox Trotting horses were bred to handle any type of job on the ranch and can go to the show pen and perform as champions.
Jessica Stafford and her horse, Rush River Sterling Watergait (aka “Pig Pen”), earned World Champion Working Horse in this year’s Show and Celebration. Jessica has trained with Sonny and Sharon Nelson for some six years and during that time has earned several world champion titles.
Hannah Stafford, and her horse Pig Pen’s Brother (really a full brother to her sister’s horse) earned Reserve World Champion Versatility Horse in last week’s Show and Celebration.
They competed in showmanship, horsemanship, English pleasure, western pleasure, trail, open reining, barrels, poles, and stakes race.
