Winter Gardening Seminar Planned Here Sept. 5

Patrick Byers, horticulture specialist with the University of Missouri Extension, will conduct a seminar in Ava on winter gardening.
The program will be held Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6-9 p.m. at the Ava High School Cafeteria.
He will be presenting his methods of harvesting something from your garden each month of the year and also how to prepare your garden, fruit trees, berry bushes, etc., for the winter.

Area residents are also reminded that Dr. Sarah Kenyon, University of Missouri Extension, will be presenting a program tonight (Thursday) on the top seven poisonous weeds to livestock in our area. That program will also be held in the high school cafeteria beginning at 6 p.m.
