2018 Glade Top Trail Run Set For Saturday, April 7

The 2018 Glade Top Trail Run will be held on Saturday, April 7, holding to the traditional first Saturday in April.
New in 2018, however, for the fifth annual event, all entries will be by pre-registration with a participation cap of 250 runners. No entries will be accepted on race day.
Just over 200 runners participated in the event this year, with the numbers increasing each of the past four years.
The participation limit has been set to help the race directors better serve the runners and to also preserve the natural beauty of the U.S. National Forest where the race is held.
Returning runners from 2017 will get first consideration with open enrollment for only them in the month of September.
The electronic timing service, Act Now Promotions, will be sending a “link” for entry by email to returning runners. If you are a returning runner and do not receive your email invitation, you may contact Liz Kyger at 417-683-0785 or
Early bird registrations for all others will be from Oct. 1 through Jan. 1, or until the cap of 250 participants has been reached.
If there are still openings after Jan. 1, entry rates will increase.
Registration rates for the 2018 races are: for the 1-mile gravel road walk/run, $12; 4.25 mile trail run or hike, $25; 10.25 mile trail run, $40. These prices are good until Jan. 1.
After Jan. 1 entry fees (if available) will be $15, $30 and $50, respectively.
Race coordinators encourage all returning runners to beat the crowd and sign up during their special invitation period.
The Glade Top Trail Run is the principal fundraiser for the Pat Souder Henry Scholarship Fund for college-bound seniors at Ava High School.
