Quilt Show Under Way Now At Ava Art Gallery

The 2017 Ava Art Guild Quilt Show is now open for visitors at the Art Gallery on East Washington Ave. All the judging is complete and the results are in. There are many beautiful entries from small to full size. The winners are:
“A Country Home” sponsored by United Country Area Land Realty–Max and Wanda Murphy. Winner Missy Shay.
“It Is a Small World” sponsored by Piece and Freedom Quilts of Ava – Jo Ann Heriford. Winners: 1st place Connie Freeman; 2nd place Connie Bacorn.
“The Town Crier, Read All About It” sponsored by Douglas Country Herald–Sue Curry Jones. Winner Connie Bacorn.
“Wild for Animals” sponsored by Ava Art Guild – Caryl Posada-Stillings. Winner, Missy Shay; and Junior Award, Abigail Fenoff.
The quilt show runs through Aug. 26 at the Ava Art Guild Gallery, 303 E. Washington Ave. (across from the Douglas Country Herald). The Gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission to the quilt show is free and everyone is welcome to come and browse the quilts. While there be sure to buy some tickets for the amazing quilt to be given away. Ticket sales will benefit the Douglas Country Historical Museum.
