The Skyline Volunteer Fire Department annual picnic is this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11-12, and festivities will start at 6 p.m. each evening. The event is held at the fire station which is located just east of the junction of Highways C and 76. Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair and enjoy two special evenings of fun and entertainment.
Toe-tapping music will be played each evening by the following groups – The Finley River Boys, Bluegrass Tradition, Cold Creek, Curb Appeal, Backyard Bluegrass, Music 30, and the Turners. An on-site concession stand offers a wide range of food items, such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fried catfish, and much more.
Fun activities consist of bingo, dime toss, ring toss, darts, ball toss, Skyline golf, and a bounce house.
This event is the annual fundraiser for the fire department as all proceeds support the department’s equipment needs and expenses.
