Cherokee Carney, a 2017 graduate of Willow Springs High School, is the recipient of one of the 2017 Grant-In-Aid scholarships from the Xi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma in the amount of $1,000. She will be attending Ozark Technical College in Springfield and wants to major in art education. The recipient of the $500 Grant-In-Aid scholarship, Kelsey Walton, is also a 2017 graduate of Willow Springs High School. She will be attending Missouri State University-West Plains and will major in English, looking toward the future of becoming a college professor. Both of these girls are deserving, showed excellent skills both in and out of the classroom, and will make excellent teachers. Each year the Xi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international educational society, has awarded a scholarship to a graduating female senior who is planning on going into education. This year the group was fortunate to have the funds which come from its generous members to award two scholarships.
