Court Orders Prison Sentences At July Law Day Tuesday

During Law Day in Douglas County on July 11, several individuals were sentenced to the Department of Corrections. The following information comes from the office of Douglas County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Wade. James “Rusty” Frye, 53, Ava, was sentenced to 15 years for possession of controlled substance. Frye was ordered to complete the 120 day Institutional Treatment program through the Department of Corrections. The offense occurred on March 5, 2016 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. Frye was found guilty at a jury trial on April 21, 2017. Adam Bachhofer, 33, Mountain Grove, was sentenced to four years for stealing. The offense occurred in January of 2017 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. James “Bo” Ellison, 31, Mansfield, was sentenced to two years for possession of a controlled substance. The offense occurred in June of 2016 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. Mark Lambert, 48, Ava, was sentenced to five years for possession of a controlled substance after his probation was revoked by the court. Lambert was ordered to complete the 120 day Institutional Treatment Program through the Department of Corrections. The original offense occurred in October of 2016 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. James Sparks, 48, Springfield, was sentenced to five years for DWI-Aggravated Offender. Sparks was ordered to serve 60 days shock time in the Douglas County jail. The offense occurred in November of 2016 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. Justin Treece, 30, Nixa, was sentenced to five years for possession of a controlled substance and three years for operating a vehicle without a valid license. Treece was ordered to complete the 120 day Institutional Treatment Program through the Department of Corrections. The sentences will run concurrently to each other. The possession offense occurred in February of 2017 and was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. The offense of operating a vehicle without a valid license was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Andrew Ussery, 51, Drury, was sentenced to three years for DWI- Persistent Offender. Ussery was ordered to serve 30 days in the Douglas County Jail. The offense occurred in December of 2016 and was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Jarred R. Young, 28, Ava, was sentenced to five years for possession of a controlled substance. Young was ordered to complete the Long Term Treatment Program through the Department of Corrections. The offense occurred in June of 2017 and was investigated by the Ava Police Department. There were 78 total cases on this docket with 75 being felonies. There were 18 guilty pleas entered.
