The local Work Ready program has announced that another WorkKeys assessment will be held in Ava on Tuesday, July 11. The assessment will be conducted at the Community Training Center adjacent to Ozark Mountains Real Estate (just east of Dollar General) on Springfield Road (NW 12th Ave.) beginning at 8 a.m. Local coordinator Richard Sturgeon said the assessment requires about three hours and participants should be out by 11:30 a.m. The WorkKeys assessment is offered free to adults 18 and over at Missouri Job Centers across the state. Successful completion of the WorkKeys assessment results in earning a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) at the Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum level. Ava has had one person, Bob Sellers, receive the Platinum level certificate. Sturgeon says the local community needs two or three more people to complete the assessment for Douglas County to become a Certified Work Ready (CWR) community.
