Softball Lady Bears End Regular Season With Loss To Parkview

The Ava Lady Bears ended the regular softball schedule on Tuesday with a 6-1 loss to Parkview in Springfield.

District tournament action was scheduled to begin Wednesday at Ava with the Lady Bears seeded second in Class 2, District 1, behind Houston.

Kiaunna Snow had Ava’s only hit in the game at Parkview and subsequently scored the Bears’ only run. She was driven in by Maci Jones.

Ava was blanked, 1-0, by Liberty in conference play last Thursday. That game was played as a make-up from a rainout back in August and was played at Norwood.

Ava had three hits against the Eagles of Mtn. View-Liberty but was unable to produce a run in the game.

Three sophomores, Ashton Bewley, Snow and Macey Phillips each had a hit for the Lady Bears.
