The Ava Senior Center is in need of volunteers to help with the homebound meal program.
If you can spare just one hour a week or twice a month as either a driver or a “runner”, contact the Ava Senior Center and let them know.
Those delivering meals usually leave the center around 10 a.m. and return by 11 or 11:15. If you can drive a vehicle, or get out and walk the meal to the door of our homebound residents, your help is needed.
A plea is being sent out to area churches, hoping they can help meet this need in the community.
Delivering meals to the homebound not only provides them with one nutritious meal each day, but it also provides a community service of making contact with the individual on a daily basis, which provides for their well-being.
