Loretta Sue Andrews

Loretta Sue Andrews, 70 years, 6 months, and 14 days old, passed to Heaven on March 31, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.

Loretta was born Sept. 17, 1945 in Douglas County, Mo., to Charles Raymond and Ruby (Elliott) Linder. She graduated from Ava High School in 1963.

On June 22, 1973 Loretta and John August Andrews were united in marriage in Miami, Okla.

Loretta was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and had received this license in California. She also had her EMT license. Loretta worked for 25 years at the Mercy Hospital and Home Healthcare in Mansfield, Mo. Loretta’s work was her passion and loved care giving! She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist Church and had been attending with John, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mansfield.

Loretta enjoyed cooking a big spread for her family. Most of all she loved being with her grand- and great-grandchildren!

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lisa Triphena; two brothers, Darrell and Gerald Ray Linder; two sisters, Jewell Linder and Sharon Lansdown.

Loretta is survived by her husband, John Andrews, of the home; daughter, Kellie DeGase and husband, Jeff, Mansfield, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jeremy Archer, Zach Petty, Joshua Archer, Stephanie Petty, and William Hagen; five great-grandchildren: Eric, Brayden, Elise, Dalanie and McKenzie, and one-on-the-way; three sisters, Wilma Davis, Vera Davis and Anita Smith; and many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Loretta were Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with burial in the Brushy Knob Cemetery. Visitation was Monday, April 4 from  6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating were Pastor Larry Scott and the Rev. R.E. Helsley. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
