Join MDC for ‘An Evening With Wildlife’ on April 6

MOUNTAIN GROVE, Mo.– How many bears are in Missouri? How are the elk doing at Peck RanchConservation Area? What are the turkey hunting prospects looking like for this spring?

These are just a few of the questions people can get answered at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) “An Evening With Wildlife” event on Wednesday (April 6) at the Mountain Grove High School Arena. This free event, which will be from 4 p.m.
to 7 p.m.
, will provide opportunities for people to get information and updates on MDC projects and programs and also to get information on upcoming hunting seasons and fishing activities. Information stations will be set up for a variety of topics, including MDC’s Operation Game Thief program. The address of the Mountain Grove High School Arena is 420 N. Main in Mountain Grove

In addition to the information stations, there will be archery shooting, fishing simulations and 3-D shooting activities for young outdoor enthusiasts. People will also be able to view several species of live snakes that are native to Missouri.

“Last year we conducted this program in the Mountain Grove Schools and more than 1,300 kids participated. This year, I wanted to extend the invitation to people of all ages,” said MDC Ozark Regional District Protection Supervisor Jerry Elliott.
